5-Day Lake Nasser Cruise

These five unforgettable days in southern Egypt will begin with pickup from your hotels in Aswan at the indicated time. We will first move to the shores of Lake Nasser, where a comfortable cruise awaits us. After boarding and having lunch on the ship, you will have the rest of the day free to contemplate the Aswan Dam at your leisure from the deck of the ship. Dinner and accommodation on board.

Shortly after having breakfast in the ship's restaurant we will set foot on dry land. We will do it on the temple island of Kalabsha. In this small island territory we will contemplate the enigmatic Temple of Kertasi, consecrated to one of the most enigmatic female deities of Ancient Egypt: the goddess Isis. Once the guided tour of the archaeological site is over, we will return to the boat for lunch and continue the journey of this unforgettable cruise on Lake Nasser with full board.

We will head towards the ruins of Wadi el Sebowa. The reason? Visit the temples of Dakka and Mahrakka. History, legend and ancient beliefs merge perfectly in this monumental complex where we will strongly perceive the weight of the past. The temples in this area of ​​Nubia will provide us with interesting curiosities about Thoth: the ancient Egyptian god of writing, wisdom, music... and spells. After learning what mysterious enigmas this respected and highly venerated deity of Pharaonic Egypt has left us, we will return to the cruise to regain strength and continue sailing around Lake Nasser.

We will continue crossing the waters of Lake Nasser heading south. From the deck of the cruise we will observe the ancient citadel of Qasr Ibrim and the temples of Derr and Amada. The latter, whose construction began under the reign of Thutmose III, is considered the oldest in Nubia. In the afternoon, after eating on board, we will dock next to one of the main archaeological emblems of Egypt: the Abu Simbel site. The colossal figures of this temple erected in honor of Pharaoh Ramses II are enormous. If we look closely, in its inscriptions we will find (or not) the answer to many questions raised by modern Egyptology. Equally impressive are the sculptures of the Temple of Nefertari, which we will visit next. As the sun sets we will attend a dinner show at Abu Simbel. The lighting and music will create a fascinating game of perspectives on the monument! We will conclude this special day by returning to the boat to spend the night on board, anchored very close to the Abu Simbel sculptures.

After having breakfast on board the cruise, we will travel by road from Abu Simbel to Aswan. Once in the city, if you wish, we can take you to the local airport three hours before your flight departure.
