Overview
Would you like to discover one of the most surprising landscapes in Egypt? On this 4-day excursion we will leave Cairo behind to visit the White Desert and the oases of Fayoum and Bahariya.
Itinerary
At the indicated time we will pick you up at your hotel in Cairo and we will travel to the Fayoum oasis. We will drive along Lake Qarun until we reach Wadi Rayan, a natural depression located 42 meters below sea level. There we will visit its incredible waterfalls.
The route will take us to the Mudawara mountain, a place overlooking the beautiful Fayoun oasis, where we will contemplate the contrast of the intense blue of the water and the golden color of the sand. We will continue the route exploring the Wadi Hitan National Park, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. This place, considered an open-air museum, is also known as the Valley of the Whales. We'll find out why!
Next, we will pause to have a delicious lunch and visit the town of Tunis El Fayoum in a panoramic view. There we will have time to tour this small agricultural and fishing community located on the southern shore of Lake Qarun.
Finally, we will take you to the camp where we will rest the first night. There we will also enjoy a typical dinner.
On the second day, after breakfast, we will travel from Fayoun to Bahariya, located about six hours away. Once we arrive at the Bahariya oasis, we will have lunch to recharge our batteries.
After lunch, we will embark on a tour of the main places of interest in Bahariya. We will approach the salt lake and the Black Mountains. In addition, we will take a walk to the Bir el Ghaba hot springs, where you will have the opportunity to bathe and then visit the English Mountain. Did you know that it is the highest in the area?
We will end the day by returning to camp for dinner and rest until the next day.
After breakfast, we will leave the camp behind to travel to the Black Desert area, where we will see the El-Marssos mountain. Do you know why it receives this name? We will tell you! The next stop will take place in the Bedouin village of El-Hez and the Aqapat area. In this area we will take a break to recharge our batteries with lunch.
From this place, we will begin a journey of about 160 kilometers through the White Desert. Here we will stop at Crystal Mountain, made up of small fragments of quartz that shine in the sunlight, the Agabat Valley and El Sharkia. Photo moment!
We will end the third day by returning to the hotel, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner.
On the last day, after having breakfast at the camp, we will travel to the Bahariya oasis and, from there, we will return to the Egyptian capital. We will make a stop halfway so you can eat on your own.
We will finish this 4-day excursion by arriving at your hotel in Cairo around 3:00 p.m.
