Temples of Kalabsha, Beit El-Wali and Kertassi

After picking you up from the boat or hotel early in the morning, we will head south towards the Aswan High Dam, located 20 kilometers from the city. Our first visit will be the Temple of Kalabsha, created in homage to Mandulis, the sun god of lower Nubia. The temple was built during Roman times, around the year 30 BC, and has dimensions of 76 meters long and 22 meters wide. Like Abu Simbel, it was displaced for the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The next stop will be Beit el-Wali, a small temple from the time of Ramses II that was carved into the rock and dedicated to Amun-Ra. It has a courtyard decorated with military scenes of Ramses II and his campaigns against the Libyans, Asians, Ethiopians and the people of Kush. The last temple we will visit is the Kertassi Kiosk, dedicated to Isis, with its main entrance flanked by two columns presided over by the head of the goddess Hathor. It was also transferred for the construction of the Aswan Dam. After the tour we will take you back to the boat or hotel where you are staying. Arrival is scheduled 4 hours after pickup. Pickups This activity includes pickup from hotels, hostels and apartments in the city of Aswan. However, if your hotel or boat is located on one of the following islands in Aswan, we will pick you up at the meeting points mentioned below: For accommodation on Western Aswan Island (Gharb Aswan): we will pick you up at the West Bank Ferry Terminal. For accommodation on Elephantine Island (Guizirit Alfantin): we will pick you up at the KFC restaurant in Kornish Al Nile or at the Telecom Egypt Office on El Sadat Road. For accommodation on Suhil Island (Guizirit Suhil): we will pick you up at the West Bank Ferry Terminal. If your hotel or boat in Aswan is not located in the city center or on any of the islands mentioned, you will have to go to one of the indicated meeting points.
