Valleys of the Kings and Queens, Colossi and Hatshepsut

After picking you up from your hotel, boat or Luxor train station at the indicated time, we will leave the city center behind to head to its western shore, where its famous necropolises are located. Our first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, a gigantic necropolis with more than 60 tombs excavated in the rocks. The first king buried here was Thutmose I, and it later became the resting place of such important pharaohs as Tutankhamun, Ramesses II, Ramesses III and Seti I. During the visit we will enter the most spectacular tombs and, if you want, you can enter Tutankhamun's tomb on your own. Leaving the Valley of the Kings behind, we will head to the Valley of the Queens, where the tombs of the princesses and wives of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom are located. Among the tombs that we can visit is that of Nefertari, favorite wife of Pharaoh Ramses II (entrance to Nefertari's tomb not included). Our next stop will be the Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to the only woman who reigned in Egypt for a long period. Work of the architect Senenmut, the Temple of Hatshepsut is totally different from the rest, since it has a part excavated in the rock and another exterior in the form of terraces. On the way back to Luxor, we'll make a final stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic stone statues depicting Pharaoh Amenhotep III relaxing, gazing at the Nile and the rising sun. The tour ends back at the starting point after 6 hours of travel. Pickup This activity only includes pick-up and return transfer to Luxor hotels and boats located on the eastern bank (right bank) of the Nile River. On the return we will drop you off at the same location as the pick-up. If your hotel or boat in Luxor is on the western bank (left bank) of the Nile River, we will arrange a meeting point for you on the eastern bank.
